Position Summary:
The Vice President of Communications oversees all public relations initiatives undertaken by the company. Those initiatives are intended to drive awareness of the Intersport brand and properties to influence and educate key decision-makers of their business acumen and proposition.

Responsibilities:
- Develop a strategic public relations plan and create a mechanism to evaluate its ROI
- Develop creative ways to promote the Intersport corporate brand among key industry decision-markers and potential partners by securing placement in trade publications that serve each division (Sports Business Journal and Daily, Wall Street Journal, Event Marketer, BrandWeek, Advertising Age, Promo, Television Week, Broadcasting and Cable, etc.)
- Increase value for Intersport clients (marketers, networks, and partners) by securing impactful coverage of Intersport initiatives.
- Expand exposure and increase buzz among consumers of key Intersport properties - to drive tune-in to television properties, traffic to digital initiatives, and ticket sales for events.
- Develop innovative ways to promote CelebTV.com, among both industry leaders and consumers.
- Manage the on-site media relations at Intersport events, including the Under Armour All-American Game, Herbstreit Varsity Series, College Slam Dunk & Three-Point Championships, College Football All-Star Challenge and the College Home Run Derby.
- Create ways to build Intersport’s credibility and visibility throughout the industry, which may include placing senior executives on industry conference panels or as guest speakers at industry events.
- Creatively navigate the social media landscape and identify opportunities to promote the Intersport brand and/or television shows, digital media programs or events.
- Enhance internal communication and synergy.
- Develop PR plans surrounding specific projects that can drive sponsor value.
- Oversee management of the Intersport website.

Qualifications/Skills:
- 15+ years experience in public or media relations with a proven track record in a fast-paced environment. Sports and/or entertainment industry experience a major plus.
- Deep relationships at marketing and sports trade publications, as well as quality contacts at local and national television outlets, print publications and radio stations.
- Understanding of the media industry (broadcast and broadband) and sponsorship/event marketing field.
- Ability to work independently and within the framework of a team. Intersport is an environment for energetic, self-starting, hard-working individuals.
- Ability to proactively identify communication opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Social media knowledge and experience.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and excel under pressure
- Relationships with networks, sponsors, or agencies a plus.

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience. Compensation package will include base salary plus bonus plan.
