/////////////////////////|||||||||||||||||||||\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<||||| Prologue: |||||>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\|||||||||||||||||||||///////////////////////// Valdaterra, a world ravaged by unjust wars for several millennia. At the end of the 4th age, a great disaster occurred which destroyed more then half of the planets population. It is to this day unknown as to what the cause of the event was. However, as a result from the great disaster, often called "The Altus Perditio Incident", voids mysteriously appeared all across Valdaterra, along with life from two other dimensions. These two dimensions were Brenndurgaia: a dimension of spirits, and Aurda: a dimension of immortals. After seventy years had past, the peoples from these two dimensions were eventually accepted as though they were ordinary mortals, and started commingling with the majority of the population. But not all of the life that entered Valdaterra was good. With spirits came demons, and with immortals came the damned. These creatures were at one time ordinary beings that had been infected by an ancient evil, and so they were given the title "The Cursed". With aid from both the peoples of the Aurden and Brenndurgaian dimensions, the people battled against the cursed for the next 300 years. The cursed were eventually defeated, but not completely destroyed. /////////////////////////|||||||||||||||||||||\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ <<<<<<<<< The start of militias and the rise of the agency's: >>>>>>>>> \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\|||||||||||||||||||||///////////////////////// By the year 451, A.P. most of the populations had formed into small colonies. The remnants of the cursed were predominately large winged beasts that preyed on the weak. As a rising problem, fourteen of the colonies formed militias to counter the remainder of the cursed. Over the next four years, these militias grew and eventually became small military institutions. By the year 466, A.P. the cursed were driven off into seclusion, and much of the militias were then converted into protection agency's. These are the names of each agency: Delta Agency (D.A.), Rahmen Recovery Bureau (R.R.B.), Genesis Corp (Gen-Co), Eden Group (E.D.E.N.), Digamma United, Geraki Corp (GC). Five of these militia's chose to become mercenary military's: Tigris Force, Lambda Phoenix, Omicron-Force, Demon Extermination Group (D.E.G.), Red-Wolf Force. The three remaindering militia decided to merge into one organization known as the "Tri-Union-Alliance" or "T.U.A.". /////////////////////////|||||||||||||||||||||\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ <<<<<<<< The fall of the agency's and the creation of A.I.O.S: >>>>>>>> \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\|||||||||||||||||||||///////////////////////// With ambitious leadership, corruption eventually grew in many of the agency's, especially with that of the Tri-Union-Alliance. After a short period of time, many of these agency's had actually become hostile toward the very people they had sworn to protect. The only option left to the people, was to turn to one of the other agency's that hadn't taken a turn for the worse. This would eventually lead to an all out war between the agency's. In 469, A.P, the Geraki Corp in a joint operation with the Omicron-Force and Tri-Union-Alliance, had finished the developments on what was to be called "A.I.O.S.", which is short for "Artificial Intelligent Operating System". These A.I.O.S. were to be integrated into the cockpit of an armored device, usually a core, or C.M.C (Custom Mobile Cockpit). Once installed, the A.I.O.S. would have complete control over the devices surrounding defenses, as well as navigation, sonar, radar and targeting system, it even had the ability to shut off all of the devices power in the case of an emergency. The intention behind this was to give the pilot the opportunity to focus on the mission at hand, while the computers system would provide in assistance. However, war is like a river in constant motion, and what is created to be an advantage, can also be used as a weakness. By the years end, all of the agency's had developed they're own versions of an A.I.O.S. At the same time, the Genesis Corp had shifted their focus to the research and development of cybernetics, nanotechnology and cloning. The results of this project have never been disclosed to the public. However, by the year 479, A.P. radio reports from military units stated that they were ambushed by a red and black mech with the Gen-Co logo on the side. These reports were received just prior to the mysterious annihilation of each unit. After continuous investigations into these matters, it was soon found out that whenever the red and black mech appeared, the A.I.O.S. of the entire unit would go haywire. As a counter measure, the Tigris Force chose to set forth a test project where a pilot would enter combat with a live navigator in place of the A.I.O.S. This project was given the name "Consortio", which would later become the foundation of how the Tigris Force builds their units. /////////////////////////|||||||||||||||||||||\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<||| Introduction: |||>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\|||||||||||||||||||||///////////////////////// Year: 480, A.P. “What! You've gotta be kidding me!” Jack responded to his superior while angrily hitting the controls of his mech. “I don‘t give a damn what command says, why do we have to Baby Sit a couple of dumb ass rookies?!” “So we got to look after a couple of brat kids, big deal”. Derek said through his radio. The commander replied with a sigh, “It‘s not like I want to have them come along either, but this order comes from the top, and complaining about it wont make it any easier”. Jack said with a grunt, “Well you brats better not cause any trouble, or I‘ll. . .” “That‘s enough, we‘re approaching the target”. Said the commander in a serious tune. The radio on the mech went quite. “. . . Yamato? . . . . . . Hey Yamato?!”. The boy sitting in the front cockpit looked back over the side of his shoulder. “What is it Ami?” Yamato asked the girl who was sitting in another cockpit just 6 feet behind him. “Are you scared?” She asked. “What!? Oh, of, course not! Wh-why would I be scared?” He answered with a stutter, at which Ami laughed, causing Yamato to turn a shade of red at the response. “Hey you kids, be quite over there!” The commander exclaimed over the radio. “This is no game, we‘re in the middle of a mission”. Said Derek. “We‘re very sorry, it wont happen again” Both the rookies responded. “Heh, if it does, you‘ll have a long walk home” Said Derek. “And that suits me just fine!” Said Jack. Ignoring the conversation, the commander hit several keys on his controls at which the mechs computer responded. “The objective point is approximately 53 yards away. There are currently no hostiles in the vicinity”. Trusting his computer, he said. “According to my computers information, there are no hostiles in the area. . . Yamato, Ami, what do you get?" Ami replied while pressing a series of keys like a kid who was just asked about her favorite toy. “Yes, one second. . . There are no. . . Wait!! Something is approaching from 8 o’clock at a rapid pace!” Alarmed, and not able to see anything on his computers readout screen, the commander said. “Jack, Derek, Yamato, switch your rear defenses on!!” But before he could finish speaking, Derek’s mech was sliced in half. Jack shouted over the radio. “Derek, can you hear me?!! Derek! . . . Damn it!!” But Derek’s mech had been completely destroyed. The commander then asked over the radio. “Did anyone see the enemy mech?” Jack replied. “No! That damned thing was only there for a split second. . .” Ami noticed on her readout screen, that the enemy mech was standing directly behind Jack. “Jack! Behind you!!” She shouted, but it was to late. Seconds later his mech was nothing more then smoldering metal. The commander said over the radio. “You kids get the hell out of here! I‘ll try and hold’em off”. Yamato replied. “Commander!” But his commander had already disappeared into a cloud of smoke. “Yamato, we better listen to him!” Said Ami. The boy turned his mech back in the direction they had come from, and started to retreat. “. . . Ami, what do you have on your read out?” Asked Yamato. “. . . The signal is very faint, but I can‘t tell if it’s the commander or not”. Replied Ami. “How far are we from base?” Asked Yamato. Ami started to reply. “We have 28 miles. . .” But was interrupted by a crashing sound. “What was that?!” Yamato shouted. He heard Ami scream, and looked forward to see a red and black mech standing directly in front of them. Yamato shouted. “It‘s that red and black mech they told us about back at headquarters!!” But before he could finish speaking, the mech drew a beam knife and jammed it in his mech's core. After a series of screams and explosions, everything turned black. Yamato woke an hour later to find sparks flying in every direction and the cockpit in shambles. He couldn’t see out of his right eye, and felt droplets of his own blood mixed with broken glass on the controls in front of him. In a state of shock, he remembered. “Ami. . . Ami!” He tried to get up, but his seats harness was jammed. He shouted again. “Ami, Ami!!” But there was no answer. Within an instant of fear and anger, he pulled a knife out from under his seat to cut the harness. “Ami, are you alright?!!” Shouted Yamato. Yamato’s mind was elsewhere, and the thought that his own right eye had been pierced by a piece flying of glass, didn’t even concern him. Once he was free, he jumped from his seat. But as he turned to look behind him. “Ami! Are you. . . Aghh!!!!” 3 months later, it was decided that the A.I.O.S. could not be trusted. And so a training program was started to teach young pilots how to work with a navigator, rather then with a computer system. Lambda Phoenix took up the responsibility of training these youths, and providing them for the military’s. These new recruits were placed into teams of six. 3 pilot’s and 3 navigators. Each pilot would have a navigator as a partner, and each team had two commanders, both would be former partners from a previous team. The results were a success. Only three of the military groups chose to comply with this method. They were: Lambda Phoenix, Tigris Force, Red-Wolf Force. The remanding military’s either chose to turn neutral or join with Tri- Union-Alliance. /////////////////////////|||||||||||||||||||||\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<|| The Characters: ||>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\|||||||||||||||||||||///////////////////////// The Pilots: Ren Kato: Title: The Pervert. Partner: Nao Itazura. The only reason he joined is because the enlistment poster he saw had a pretty girl on it, and the recruiter guaranteed that he would definitely have a girlfriend, if he joined. Of course, since he didn't read the fine print, he never understood the fact that it wasn't a girlfriend, but along the terms of an assigned partnership, or as some might put it, an arranged marriage agreement. Naturally, he ends up assigned to a partner he can't stand. Alex Marcus: Title: The Bookworm. Partner: Tomoko Inoue. He is really into reading, especially comic books and manga. As a mater of fact, his reason for joining was out of an interest brought on upon by reading a manga. Katashi Takenaka: Title: The Cold Fish. Partner: Alina Adler. He is the cold "bad-ass" type of person. He's the type of guy that doesn't get along with anyone. And no, he doesn't flaunt his skill around. He has a distinct hatred for rich people, and treats his partner coldly because of this. Later on, you find out that his younger sister was killed in an attack on the colony they lived in. The Navigators: Nao Itazura: Title: The Troublemaker. Partner: Ren Kato. Nao and her partner first met when she carelessly crashed into him at the train station, thus braking the video camera he was using to take pictures of girls with. An event that neither of the two got over. She is always causing trouble and has little discretion. I would say that she is the number one trouble maker of the group. How did she get enlisted? She had a bad record before joining up, actually, she didn't really join. She was caught drawing graffiti on the governors lawn, which she claimed to be art. After several convictions, she was eventually given the choice of going to a reform school or enlisting into one of the military groups. She chose the later. (I based her character off of Naga from The Slayers, which I haven't seen. Oh, and her name "Nao", is not derived from the name Nao meaning "Honest", but from the word Nao meaning "Mischief"). Tomoko Inoue: Title: The Science Nerd. Partner: Alex Marcus. She is obsessed with technology, and joined so she could work with military equipment. She and her partner are the only pair in the group that gets along, most of the time. Her father was a well renown inventor that developed several leading designs of mechs. He used to work for Digamma United, until the organization started contract work with the Tri-Union-Alliance. Now he works with Eden Group developing technology for Tigris Force, Red-Wolf Force and Lambda Phoenix. Alina Adler: Title: The Princess. Partner: Katashi Takenaka. Nicknamed Hime-Sama, by Nao. She is very rich, actually, she's the above mentioned governors daughter. When she first joins, she is very ignorant and has little understanding of the real world. Why did she join? Her parents were against the idea, but after convincing them that she would join even if she had to run away, they eventually allowed her to join, but as an officer. However, upon arriving at the training facility, she is told that she can't be made an officer in the military group that she joined. They would only allow mustang officers. She is extremely nice, which is a big contrast from her cold fish of a partner, who's harshness often concerns her. She also becomes good friends with Yamato, who treats her as a granddaughter. Boot Camp Drill Instructors: Mens: Commander Parks: Lieutenant Aitkens: Sergeant Brewer: Womens: Major Reynell: She is a beautiful women in her late twenties, she has brown hair that is cut just above her shoulders. Though a drill instructor, her personality is actually quite easy going, and so is very popular around her trainees. There were many rumors going around the base that she was once a model, though none of these rumors have been proven, she has never denied it when asked. Lieutenant Collins: She is a young women in her mid twenty's with black braided hair and of a firm build. She is strict and has a very short fuse. For this harsh combination, the recruits have affectionately given her the nickname "Time Bomb". Sergeant Mayes:
